Project Partners on regional level

Partners in the regions (Zones /State Level)

The following institutions are occasionally involved in the implementation of the project:

  • ICAR institutes with suitable facilities for the implementation of capacity building measures;
  • State Departments of Agriculture, State Seed Certification Agencies (SSCAs),
  • National Seed Corporation and State Seed Development Corporations (SSDCs);
  • Seed Testing Laboratories (STLs), both private and public;
  • State Agricultural Universities(SAUs)
  • Regional seed associations in the selected States.

In the frame of this bilateral project, it was agreed to implement an extensive capacity building programme on the following five areas in three agro-climatic zones of India to improve seed quality:

  • Capacity building on Seed Production
  • Post-harvest Technologies for Better Seed Quality
  • Capacity building on Seed Quality Enhancement
  • Capacity building on Seed Testing according ISTA standards
  • Capacity building on OECD Seed Certification

The identified agro-climatic zones are:

  1. Northern Zone: (Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand)
  2. Eastern Zone: (Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Eastern Uttar Pradesh)
  3. Southern Zone: (Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu)
